What to write about

A wrong number. If a calculator's result does not match its worked example, or you cannot reproduce a figure, send the page address and the exact inputs you used. Calculation reports go to the top of the queue — accuracy is the product, and a verified error gets fixed and re-dated.

A calculator we should build. We add tools when readers ask for the same calculation repeatedly. Tell us the question you were trying to answer, not just a name — the question is what the page gets built around.

An explanation that confused you. If a formula or an example lost you, say where. Confusion reports are how the writing improves, and they are read by the person who wrote the page.

Everything else. Advertising, partnerships, and press enquiries are welcome at the same address; please put the topic in the subject line.

What we cannot do

We cannot give personal financial, tax, or investment advice by email — not because we do not care, but because advice without knowledge of your full situation is how people get hurt. If your question is "what should I do with my money," the honest answer is a qualified professional in your area. If your question is "how does this calculation work," that is exactly what this site — and this inbox — is for.

Response times

We read everything and reply to most messages within a few business days. This site has no user accounts and collects no personal financial data — the calculators run entirely in your browser — so we will never ask you for account details, passwords, or financial documents, and you should never send them.
